By national 2026 figures, installed concrete flatwork runs about $6 to $12 per square foot. We do not publish a Lincoln Park price list, because two jobs of the same size here can cost very different amounts. A long ribbon drive that the truck can only reach from the alley, an old slab that has to be broken out, or wet clay that must be dug out all change the number.
Every price on this page is a national figure published by HomeGuide for 2026. None of them is a quote from The Lincoln Park Concrete Company. Local labor and material costs, how easily a truck can reach the work and what turns up under the old slab all push a real price up or down. Checked October 2026.
How much does a concrete driveway cost?
HomeGuide puts a concrete driveway at $6 to $15 per square foot nationally, or $2,400 to $8,600 for a typical two-car drive. Plain concrete is $6 to $10 a square foot, and basic decorative work is $10 to $15. Many Lincoln Park drives are single-lane and long rather than square, so the cost is easiest to judge by square footage. A 10 by 60 foot ribbon drive is 600 square feet, which works out to $3,600 to $6,000 at the plain rate.
| Driveway | National installed cost |
|---|---|
| 20x20 (400 sq ft) | $2,400 to $6,000 |
| 24x24 (576 sq ft) | $3,500 to $8,600 |
| Plain, per sq ft | $6 to $10 |
| Basic decorative, per sq ft | $10 to $15 |
How much does concrete cost per square foot?
For a finished slab, the national figure is $6 to $12 per square foot. HomeGuide breaks that down by depth: a 4 inch slab is $6 to $8 per square foot and a 6 inch slab is $8 to $10. That price covers forms, base, concrete, placing, finishing and labor on an ordinary job. Tearing out old concrete and replacing soft clay with stone are extra when a site needs them, and on old Downriver lots they often do.
How much does a concrete patio cost? What is a fair price for a 20x20 patio?
A plain concrete patio costs $4 to $12 per square foot nationally, and a stamped or stained one costs $8 to $30. A 20x20 patio comes to $1,600 to $4,800 plain or $3,200 to $12,000 stamped or stained. A plain 12x12 is $600 to $1,700. For a 12x20 (240 sq ft) or a 16x20 (320 sq ft) patio, multiply the area by the per-foot range. Most Lincoln Park backyards fit something in that size range once the garage and the walk are allowed for.
How much does it cost to pour a slab for a 24x24 garage or a 30x40 shop?
HomeGuide lists slab prices of $600 to $1,200 for a 10x10, $860 to $1,700 for a 12x12, $2,400 to $4,800 for a 20x20 and $5,400 to $10,800 for a 30x30. It does not publish a 24x24 or a 30x40 row. Using its $6 to $12 per square foot figure, a 24x24 slab (576 sq ft) works out to about $3,460 to $6,900, and a 30x40 slab (1,200 sq ft) to about $7,200 to $14,400. That is our arithmetic, not a published number. A garage slab in Michigan also needs footings or a thickened edge to meet the building code, which is priced from the plans.
How much is a yard of concrete?
Ready-mix concrete costs $119 to $147 per cubic yard by HomeGuide's figures, with delivery within 20 miles included. That is the price of the material only. Most of the cost of a finished slab is in the digging, base, forms, steel, finishing and cleanup. Small loads, short-load fees and cold-weather additives in late fall add to the material bill.
How much does it cost to remove and replace an old driveway?
Add the removal price to the new driveway price. Nationally, removing concrete and having it hauled away costs $3 to $8 per square foot, or $1,200 to $4,500 for a whole driveway. A new drive then costs $6 to $15 per square foot. Our quotes show the tear-out and haul-away as their own line, so you can see what each part costs. On a narrow lot with no room for a dumpster, the old concrete often goes out in a small truck load by load, which affects the price.
How much does stamped concrete cost compared with plain? Is there extra for color or stain?
Stamped concrete costs $8 to $19 per square foot nationally, compared with $6 to $10 for a plain driveway and $4 to $12 for a plain patio. HomeGuide lists a 20x20 stamped patio at $3,200 to $7,600, a stamped two-car driveway at $6,900 to $10,400 and a stamped 4x20 walkway at $800 to $1,700. It publishes no separate figure for adding color or stain only, so we do not give one. We price color or stain after you pick the look and we see the slab.
How much does a concrete walkway cost?
A concrete walkway or sidewalk costs $7 to $17 per square foot installed, by HomeGuide's national figures. For a walk 4 feet wide, that is $28 to $68 per linear foot, and the average job runs $1,400 to $3,400. A front walk with a step or two up to a porch costs more than the flat figure suggests, because steps are formed separately. HomeGuide gives no published figure for steps, so we price them on site.
How much does a concrete retaining wall cost?
The national average for a concrete retaining wall is $3,000 to $10,000, according to HomeGuide. By length that is $45 to $270 per linear foot, or $15 to $45 per square foot of wall face. Walls in Lincoln Park are mostly short, along a drive or a basement stairwell. The stone backfill and drain pipe that keep wet clay from pushing them over are part of that cost, not an extra to skip.
How much does a parking pad or sidewalk cost for a small business?
We have no published figure for commercial parking pads or lots, so we give no number. A small business job is priced after a visit, because truck traffic, thickness, steel, drainage, accessible routes and any work in the public right-of-way all change the cost. For a plain sidewalk at a storefront, the national walkway figure above is a fair starting point.
My three quotes for the same patio are far apart. Which one do I trust?
Trust the quote that tells you exactly what you are getting. When prices are far apart, the gap is usually below the surface: how deep they dig, how much stone goes down and how it is compacted, how thick the slab is, whether there is steel, whether the mix is air-entrained and where the joints go. Put the three quotes side by side and compare each item. On Lincoln Park clay, a patio on a thin base can look the same as a good one for a year and then crack and sink.
The contractor wants extra for a gravel base after demolition. Is that fair?
It can be fair, if the quote said ahead of time that it might happen. Nobody can see what is under an old slab until it is broken out. On older Downriver lots that can be wet clay, cinders, old brick or a hollow where soil washed away. A good quote states how much base is included and gives a price per ton or per square foot for extra base if it is needed. If the charge is new and nothing was written, ask to see the ground and get the change in writing before you agree.
How do I know if a concrete quote is fair?
A quote is fair when the price sits within the published range for the work and the paper shows what you are paying for. It should list the square footage, slab thickness, base depth and compaction, steel, concrete mix, joint layout, finish, tear-out and haul-away, permits, cleanup and the payment schedule. A low number with none of that is not a bargain, because you cannot tell what has been left out.
